Mola: Fish of the Sun is a personal game project I began in 2022 a stylized Unity title and a deliberate departure from my professional work up to that point.


As the sole creator, I owned every aspect of production:
concept, art direction, asset creation, procedural environment in Houdini, animation, VFX, materials, shaders, and the full spectrum of technical art, through to optimization and performance tuning. Of everything involved, I found the most satisfaction in crafting the narrative and driving the art direction.

Deep Dive Cut Scene

Purposefully minimal shaders were a cornerstone of the visual style, keeping the aesthetic clean and the pipeline efficient.

VFX

I relied heavily on VFX Graph for visual effects, well-suited to the stylized, particle-driven aesthetic of the project.

Procedural animation done in Houdini.

One of several cutscenes I designed end-to-end: camera work, VFX, timing, and scene composition all handled in-engine.

Built a procedural grass generator in Houdini to accelerate iteration and make prototyping more explorative.

A Unity/Houdini Negine environment layout tool I built to rapidly test and iterate on scene composition.
